Information for International Applicants
Qualified international students are encouraged to apply for admission to graduate study at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
The following information must accompany a signed copy of this form for an application file to be considered complete:
1. All transcripts, certificates, and examination results from secondary schools with original stamps and signatures + certified
translations if not in English.
2. Certifed Bachelor's degree certificate + certified translations if not in English. If copied, the certificate must be certifed with the
official stamp of the university after copying.
3. A statement or certificate indicating English language proficiency. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is
recommended. A score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) is required. Applicants for the Master of Arts in
Communications must present minimum TOEFL scores of 575/230.
4. Documented evidence of sufficient funds to support on year of full-time study. Please complete the enclosed Financial Support
Statement for Graduate International Students and furnish a statement on original bank letterhead demonstrating the funds on
deposit. Applicants should not rely on financial assistance in the form of part-time work on campus because such employment
cannot be guaranteed. Financial aid is not available for international students. However, international students may apply for
graduate assistantships. Requests for consideration for graduate assistantships should be made directly to the graduate coordinator
in the program in which you plan to study.
5. A USD $60 non-refundable application fee by Bank Check or Money Order only. Please make your check payable to: "University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point."
When the UWSP Foreign Student Office has received all of the above items (a single mailing is strongly recommended), an initial
evaluation of your application will be made. Provided your application file is complete and in order, it will be forwarded to the program
to which you are making application for a complete review. Admissions decisions are made by the graduate program. Admitted
students will receive a letter of admission from their graduate program and a FORM I-20 from the Foreign Student Office.
