Homework: You will have homework every week. The homework assing-
ments will not be due, but solving them is essential.
Quizzes: Selected problems from the homework will be given for a 10-15
minutes quizzes every class meeting except the days of the midterms.
In forming the nal grade I will drop one of your quizzes.
Class participation: Class participation is extremely important. I encourage you to ask questions and make remarks and comments.
Exams: There will be three intermediate in class exams, which are tentatively scheduled for the following dates:
Tuesday, September 27;
Tuesday, October 25;
Tuesday, November 22;
Final exam: Final exam will be on Tuesday, December 13, 8:30 - 10:30 pm
in our regular classroom.

Course grade: Here is the chart of how grades will be decided:
50% for two of your best intermediate exams.
25% for the nal.
25% for quizzes.
Make up exams: They can be arranged, but please notify me beforehand.
I reserve the right to refuse a makeup if I am asked after the event
itself. Keep in mind that I will drop one of your midterm exams and
one of your quizzes.
