Lesson Plans for November 30, 2015- December 4, 2015 Monday- (Standard 8.F.2, 8.F.4) and RTI (Functions) I can determine the rate of change (slope) from two points. I can determine the rate of change (slope) from a graph. I can write an equation from a graph. Students will review knowledge over finding rate of change from a graph and writing an equation from a graph. Students will use knowledge and apply the work in order to find the rate of change from two points. Students will have notes in the interactive notebook. Students will complete independent practice over finding slope from two points. Formative Assessment: Exit Slip Tuesday- (Standard 8.F.2, 8.F.4) and RTI (Functions) Students will complete the “Walk This Way” (Set 2) activity over finding the slope and equation from a table. Students will use the program Desmos on the Ipads to determine if the equations constructed correctly match the tables provided. Students will work cooperatively in pairs to complete this activity. RTI - I can write an equation from a table. Students will use the RTI materials provided by Vonda (Walk this Way Set 1). Students will analyze a table to find the slope (pattern) and the initial value (start value) in order to construct a linear equation. Formative Assessment: Exit Slip Wednesday- Functions (8.F.2,8.F.4) and RTI (Functions) Test Completion/Introduction to Function I can determine the rate of change (slope) from a real world graph. I can write an equation from a graph. Using the Carnegie materials students will find the rate of change from a real world graph. Students will analyze the use of slope in real world situations. The second part of class will be a card sort activity where students find the slope and y-intercept from a graph to write an equation. Students will match the cards to the correct graph, table and equation. Formative Assessment: Observation Thursday - Slope (Standard 8.F.2, 8.F.4) I can determine the rate of change (slope) from a table. I can write an equation from a graph. Students will use the Carnegie materials to determine the rate of change from a table. Students will be given interactive notes over finding rate of change from a table. Students will also complete a Vocabulary Sheet for their math notebook over linear equations concepts. Students will work on Moby Max during RTI time. (Laptops) RTI – I can write an equation from a table. Students will use the RTI materials provided by Vonda (Walk this Way Set 1). Students will analyze a table to find the slope (pattern) and the initial value (start value) in order to construct a linear equation. Formative Assessment: Exit Slip Friday – Slope (Standard 8.F.2, 8.F.4) and RTI (Functions) I can determine the rate of change (slope) from a graph. I can write an equation from a graph. I can determine the slope from a table. Students will work cooperatively to determine the slope and equation from a graph and table. Students will complete a Cut-Out Slope and Equations activity. Students will determine the slope from a graph and write an equation from a graph. Students will take a short two question quiz over finding the rate of change from a graph.
