Berkeley Division 2016 Elections Time Line (electronic ballots)* Early December 2015: Nominating petitions posted on Academic Senate website; Division Secretary sends CalMessage January 18, 2016 (Monday): Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday January 19, 2016 (Tuesday): Instruction begins February 1, 2016 (Monday): Post Notice of Election on website and Division Secretary sends CalMessage February 15, 2016 (Monday): Presidents’ Holiday February 16, 2016 (Tuesday): Nominating petitions due (10 days of instruction after Notice of Election posted) February 23, 2016 (Tuesday): Requests for paper ballots due March 1, 2016 (Tuesday): Open electronic voting and deliver any requested paper ballots March 21-25, 2016: Spring Recess March 31, 2016 (Thursday): Close electronic and paper ballot voting (30 calendar days after voting began [14 minimum]; 37 days of instruction after Notice of Election posted [30 minimum]) April 14, 2016 (Thursday): Open electronic run-off voting (if necessary) April 21, 2016 (Thursday): Close electronic run-off voting (7 calendar days after beginning of electronic voting) May 3, 2016 (Tuesday): Division meeting – Division Secretary to certify election results at meeting *Note: some dates (especially for any run-off elections) are subject to change.
