Our mission is to prepare students for
successful employment in preschool
programs and to prepare them for
successful entry to a 4-year campus.
The Child Development students are an
integral part of Calhoun’s campus, and
many of them also represent childcare
programs throughout our area. Our
students will continue to serve as
teachers, program directors, and as
leaders among childcare providers in
this community. The child development
program concurs with Calhoun’s
mission, that all students will be
successful, and our program also values
competency areas deemed as important
by our campus (critical thinking,
cultural
diversity,
and
communication) as well.
Our purpose is to provide Graphic
Designers for Industry, mastering
graphic software, hardware and
advertising design principles.
Upon completion of the Computer
Graphics program, the student will be
able to apply multiple media,
techniques and processes; collect,
analyze and correct comprehensives
within a structured time schedule;
create professional project solution
for a culturally diverse client;
demonstrate proper use of type
through contrast and type hierarchy;
and demonstrate computer skills
using a variety of software and
hardware
The mission of Calhoun Community College is to provide
quality, innovative instruction and promote community
development and cultural enrichment, and this mission is also
an integral part of the Child Development Student Outcome
Plan. Our program values cultural diversity and individual
differences as reflected in student outcomes. The outcomes
also address involvement with the community through
childcare visits and observations.
Our campus vision, success for every student, was definitely
considered as student outcomes were developed. Not only are
students assessed through exams, but further opportunities to
succeed are offered through projects and class presentations.
Each project listed within outcomes will not only be
meaningful to our students as they work in the childcare
setting, but the projects will represent a culmination of
learning objectives that have been discussed and practiced in
the classroom setting, therefore leading to successful
integration of learning and practical experience
To accomplish the institution’s mission, the Computer
Graphics Degree Program has adopted the following goals:
provide career and graphic education programs that
prepare students to enter the graphics job market or
transfer to a college or university; utilize emerging
instructional technology by providing innovative learning
opportunities for students; ensure institutional
effectiveness by planning, assessing, and evaluating all
activities and programs.
