Placed-based Profile
– “The lighting, as I was walking up the
steps to the 3rd floor, seemed to come
from these honeycomb mirrors that
were reflecting light off each other from
the outside light coming in.”
– “I can’t stop wondering why the ceiling is
not attached to the walls or why there
are huge circular holes with ceiling fans
slowing spinning.”
– “The campus offers a fresh & new
environment for learning.”
League Reaffirmation Site Visit, February 19 and 20, 2009

Student Reflections
• . . . I began to take Mother Nature a bit for granted, assuming
that social consciousness had risen to the point that I didn’t
have to be a participant in caring for the messes we humans
make and leave behind. It’s when I went out looking for those
messes that I realized a few people still have not got the
message.” (Linda Neel, nursing)
League Reaffirmation Site Visit, February 19 and 20, 2009
Student Reflections
• “While I was outside on this trail on Saturday I was
able to recall what we learned in our Biology class
about the classification of living things and the three
domains of life: Domain Archaea, Domain Bacteria,
and Domain Eukarya. What I saw on Saturday was
mainly from the Domain Eukarya. I saw many forms
of molds, yeasts and mushrooms. I also noticed
many mosses, ferns, and woody flowering plants
from the Plantae kingdom.” (Natalie Norman, business)
