2710: Algebra 1 Exploration LAB

This course is designed to increase student number sense and give a thorough review of pre-algebra topics. This course will help prepare the
student for the rigor of high school algebra.

This course is designed to develop skills with various numbers and their operations. Students will be introduced to solving equations and systems
as well as inequalities, basic graphing skills, and use of formulas. Algebra 1 A prepares the student to solve real world problems and applications
using various techniques.
27107: Algebra 1 B
Grade Level: 9

Prerequisite: Algebra 1 A----- This is a continuation of Algebra 1 A. Topics include properties of exponents, quadratic equations and polynomials.
Students will also engage in more complex equation solving.

Prerequisite: Algebra 1B -----– This is a course in plane and solid Euclidean geometry. We will be following the Kentucky Core Academic Standards
for this course. Topics covered in Geometry A will include: congruence, transformations, congruent triangles, and properties of quadrilaterals.

Prerequisite: Geometry A----- This is a continuation of Geometry A. Topics covered in this course will include: similarity, right triangles,
trigonometry, properties of arcs and chords with circles, areas and volume of geometric shapes, and modeling with Geometry.

cover the same concepts as Geometry A but move at a faster pace and go in more depth. We will be following the Kentucky Core Academic
Standards for this course. Topics covered in Advanced Geometry A will include: congruence, transformations, congruent triangles, properties of
quadrilaterals, similarity, and trigonometry.

properties of arcs and chords with circles, circles in the coordinate plane, areas and volume of geometric shapes, probability with geometric
shapes, and modeling with Geometry.

better prepare these students to succeed in Algebra II. Topics include: (1) relations, functions, equations and inequalities; (2) graphing various
functions; (3) systems of equations, 4) properties of exponents.

Prerequisite: Algebra 2 B-----Algebra 2 C is a continuation the Algebra II course. The course will review all critical concepts of Algebra II and bring in
the algebra connections to Geometry particularly as they appear on the ACT exam. Students will become better prepared for Algebra in the postsecondary educational settings. Additional topics include: trigonometric functions and graphs, counting principles, probability and
combinations/permutations.

2715: Advanced Math Skills- Pre-Calculus

Prerequisite: Algebra 2 A & B OR Advanced Algebra 2 A & B-----Pre-calculus – Advanced Mathematical Concepts blends the concepts and skills that
must be mastered before enrollment in a college-level calculus course. The course includes advanced study of (1) relations and functions, (2)
exponential and logarithmic functions, and an introduction to (3) derivatives; and (4) limits. Multiple strategies will be utilized to mesh traditional
and technological teaching methods to produce an efficient, results-oriented classroom environment. Note: This course is a prerequisite for
Calculus.
2714: Trigonometry

Prerequisite: Algebra 2 A & B OR Advanced Algebra 2 A & B-----Trigonometry is designed for the student wishing to continue the advancement of
their mathematics knowledge beyond Algebra II, but also wishes to explore the many practical applications of mathematics. Trigonometric topics
include graphing, analyzing, and applying the six trigonometric functions. Note: This course is a prerequisite for Calculus.

exams and master skills essential to ACT success.

Prerequisite Math ACT less than 19- This Course’s curriculum was developed by a statewide committee with the intent of helping senior students
who have an ACT score below 19. Think of this course as a survey of mathematics beginning with some of the most fundamental concepts. The
intent is to strengthen current knowledge and fill in areas of weakness. Topics include basic operations with integers, rational, and complex
numbers; proportional thinking; exponents with scientific notation; polynomial operations including function notation and inverses of functions;
rational expressions; radical expressions. Solving/ graphing/writing linear, inequalities, absolute value equations.
