available at the Sales Counter of NCERT. The final manuscript of Part II of the
textbook (English version) for Class XI is complete and the book is likely to be
published shortly.

The chapters for Class XII textbook are being written by the designated authors.
Reviewing and editing process is going on.

Specific Objectives:
To develop textbook for Computers and Communication Technology (CCT) for
Class XII.

Methodology:
The Class XI (Part-II) textbook developed by team members has been finalized and
is in the process of printing.
The material for Class XII textbook developed by team members will be edited in
house. After necessary modifications, it will be converted to draft manuscript,
which will be edited and finalized in a workshop.

In a meeting of the faculty with the Chief Advisor and representative from CBSE, held in July 2007, the title
of the textbook was changed from Computer Science to Computer and Communication Technology
(CCT).

7. Need and justification:

There is a great demand from teachers and students for textbooks in the area of
Computer Education for Classes XI and XII. The proposed programme is meant to
develop textbooks of Computers and Communication Technology (CCT) for Classes
XI and XII by adopting similar process as has been followed for development of
textbooks on other subject areas.
Part I of the textbook (English version) for Class XI has been developed and is
available at the Sales Counter of NCERT. The final manuscript of Part II of the
textbook (English version) for Class XI is complete and the book is likely to be
published shortly.
