To achieve the above assigned duties, the All India School Education Surveys on Census as well as sample basis on thematic issues are being conducted by the NCERT under administrative and financial support of the Government of India. The Applicant’s major responsibilities are confined to acheive the above aspirations in the public interest through research, development, training and extension activities, and other work assigned by the Department/NCERT/GOI-MHRD, New Delhi from time to time. The Applicant’s responsibilites mainly include – ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ ¾ Designing and development of questionnares, and testing survey questions; Survey management - from initial planning to final data file construction; Report writing including the understanding mangement enviornment; Use of project management tools as applied to survey management; Tradeoffs with respect to costs, errors, time and personnel resources; Understanding the world of contractual research; Guidelines for the survey officers and personnel involved in the educational survey processes; Necessary supporting training programmes including the organisation of workshops, conferences, seminars; and Dissemination of reports in the public domain. On the basis of survey data, various educational issues are covered through research process by linking the school education data with other set of data to address the quality of education vis-a-vis human development in the country. 6 2.
