Major Activities Undertaken:
Development:
• Contributed as author in textbooks of Environmental Studies at the primary level and Chemistry
Sr. Sec. Level.
• Coordinated and contributed as an author for the document entitled ‘ EVS Skills through language
and Maths in Early Grades’ published by NCERT in 2009.
• Coordinated and one of the authors an Activity bank in EVS entitled ‘ Pustkon Se Pare Hamara
Paryavarn, a resource for teachers teaching EVS at the primary level.
• Contributed as an author in the Teacher’s Handbook in EVS.
• Team leader and one of the authors of ‘The training package in EVS for the North Eastern Region’
developed by dept. of Teacher Education, NCERT.
• One of the authors of the book on ‘Pedagogy of teaching Science’ for the B.Ed Students.
• Coordinated the programme for Development of low cost teaching aids in science at the upper
primary level.
• Contributed as a resource person in development of science kit at the primary and upper primary
level.
• Developed material in chemistry at the sr. sec. stage for the website SAKSHAT Education Help
line- a pilot project of MHRD as a member of the content Advisory Committee.
• Contributed in the development of teachers’ guide for EGS & AIE volunteers, 2005-06.
• Contributed as an author in the book entitled,’ Teaching Science: A Resource book for teachers at
the secondary stage’ 2002-03.
• Contributed a self-learning module entitled, ‘Matter’ for the teachers in science at upper primary
level, under PAC programme 15.05, 2005-06.
• Development of guidelines under Curriculum and Evaluation Procedures under section 29 in the
context of the RTE Act 2009(in progress).
• Development of Manual for Greening of the Elementary Schools ( in progress).
Research:
•
Team member of the Programme Evaluation research study of The Activity Based Learning
Programme in Tamil Nadu, conducted by DEE with the support from TC fund.
• Contributed in the research programme entitled ‘A Study of the Problems Faced by the Students in
Transition from Primary to the Upper Primary Level’, 2005-06.
•
Contributed in the research programme entitled, ‘An investigation into the problems and issues
pertaining to the children from marginalized groups of society in public schools’ 2005-2006.

Coordinated the National Seminar on ‘Improvement of Quality in Elementary Education under
SSA: Utilizing Janshala Experiences’ and contributed as team member in three research
projects at DEE, NCERT.
Teaching /Training
• Taught the teacher trainees of the pre service courses of B. Ed and B.Sc. B.Ed at RIE for 3 & ½
years.
• Teaching graduate courses (one year), Teaching sr. sec classes (3 & ½ years).
