GRADUATE STUDIES
BE PART OF THIS EMERGING PHENOMENON
Demand for software engineers outpaces the supply,
and is expected to persist for years to come. At the
same time, software methods and tools continue to
improve at an extraordinary rate, requiring software
professionals to keep up with the many changes.
Rose-Hulman’s Master of Science in Software
Engineering (MSSE) program leverages our highly
recognized educators to help software professionals
build on and update their knowledge, skills, and
credentials to meet emerging software challenges. The
MSSE program is designed to meet the demands and
constraints of the working professional seeking part-time
study and those devoted to full-time study.
Our classroom-based experience encourages networking
with other professionals also pursuing their advanced
degrees. Rose-Hulman’s smaller classes enable students
to work closely with professors who teach a balance
of principles and practicum. Students get hands-on
experience working with advanced methods and tools,
while professors coach them on effective software
engineering techniques.
Software is essential to most systems and the business
sectors they serve. The Rose-Hulman MSSE prepares
students to work in software companies, and the
program also prepares graduate students to address
software engineering needs in these and other
industries, including:
•Automotive
•Banking
•Communications
•Financial
•Insurance
•Medical
•Pharmaceutical
