Minutes (Wendi Mattson) – Minutes from October – motion and seconded to approve the September minutes

Treasurer’s Report (Carla Farniok) - Carla reported that the general account has a balance of $5,348.67, scholarship account is $9,658.83 and the endowment fund is at $102,400.

President’s Report (Bill Rupert) – No report.

Civil Service Employee of the Month (Wendi Mattson)- Wendi reported that the
November Employee of the Month is Vicki Nicholson from the office of the
Provost. Her presentation was on November 2 at 1:30 pm.

Constitution/Election (Jim Buffalo) – Voting Groups will remain the same as before. d.

Salary (Suzanne Boussaard)- No report. g.
Social Events & Development (Hilary Churchill)- Hilary reported that the invitations will go out soon for the Winter Luncheon. They will be blue to go with the “blue Elvis” theme. Food choices were discussed.
Hilary will get with Sodexo for a couple menu choices and we will vote by email. h.
Committee on Committees (Jim Buffalo) – No report.

Old Business – a.
New Council Member needed – we will discuss this further at the next meeting. b.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest – Wendi reported that there were a few pumpkins entered into the contest. The school of nursing was the winner of half the money put in the jars which was $57. c.
Winter Luncheon – Hilary will send out email message in the next week or so. Bryce Dexter has agreed to be Elvis for the event. It will be December 7. There will be a hula hoop contest.

Set calendar dates – Everyone should email Jim Buffalo the dates they feel should be put on a yearly calendar. e.
Combing reports – Bill went over which reports could be combined.
This was the first reading. At the next meeting it will be voted on. f.
Open forum with the President, November 7 in Sandburg Lounge, 11-
12 and 3:30-4:30.

New Business a.
List Serve for Civil Service Employees. Is it possible to get a list of CS employees that we could email information to them directly? b.
Ed Lavin (former CSEC President) came to the meeting to discuss using retired employees to volunteer on Campus. They would be helping with things like passing out water for Home Coming, helping with the We Care and possibly move in weekend. This was received well by the Council. Ed will pursue and report back to the Council at a later date.
