PATIENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All students have a right to humane, competent,
and confidential treatment.
Students are
expected to cooperate and participate in their care
by providing accurate information and feedback
concerning their condition, treatment, and
individual needs. At all times there should exist
an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Students planning to utilize this
service will schedule the initial
appointment directly with the
Vaccine Nurse.
Students must call the following
number: 484-646-4128. This is
a direct line to the Vaccine Nurse.
If there is no answer, please
leave a clear message on the
voice mail system with your name
and phone number. The vaccine
nurse will return your call.

Health and Wellness Center located on the
DMZ side of the building.

ALLERGY VACCINE SERVICES
Students may schedule an appointment
to receive allergy injections as ordered
by their allergist during the fall and
spring semesters. The fee for the
current academic year will be
$10.00 per visit. You are expected to
comply with Clinical Services’ protocol to
receive this service.
ALLERGY VACCINE REVIEW
Prior to the initiation of allergy vaccines,
a student must schedule an appointment
with the allergy nurse to meet and
discuss the allergist’s instructions. At
that time, a student must sign a consent
concerning this service.
SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT
An appointment may be scheduled by
calling the Allergy Injection phone line at
484-646-4128. Please leave a message
with your name, a phone number
(preferably cell) and a time when you
can be reached! A staff member will
return a call to you.
APPOINTMENT TIMES
Vaccine hours will be posted each
semester in Clinical Services’. Please feel
free to call if you have any questions
regarding vaccine injection.
All
appointments are scheduled during
physician hours.
SERUM STORAGE
Your serum will be stored in a
refrigerator in Clinical Services. Please
remember to pick it up over breaks and
at the end of each semester so you may
receive your injections at home.
(Clinical Services will not assume
responsibility for serum damage
related to power failures or
fluctuations in the refrigeration
temperatures.)
VACCINE ADMINISTRATION
Your vaccines will be administered in
accordance with the schedule prescribed
by your allergist. It is necessary for you
to remain in Clinical Services for 30
minutes (or as requested by your
allergist) to have your injection site(s)
checked by a nurse.
The first
injection(s) from any new vial(s) of
serum must be given in your
allergist’s office.
MISSED APPOINTMENTS
Please provide 24-hours notice if you
cannot
keep
your
scheduled
appointment.
Students who miss
two
appointments
may
lose
privileges for the remainder of the
semester.
Appointments can be
canceled or rescheduled by calling the
Allergy Injection line.
REQUESTING INFORMATION FROM
YOUR PROVIDER
The following information is needed to
receive your allergy vaccine injections:
Allergist’s name, address, fax and
phone number.

■ Schedule of administration (allergist’s
orders) including:

There may be a 24-hour processing time
between your allergy review appointment
and actually receiving the first injection of
any new serum vial(s) and/or the first
injection(s) of the current semester.



