R. Schaeffer called the meeting to order stating that there was a quorum.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
R. Schaeffer announced that there will be a continuation meeting if needed on Thursday, October 6, 2011, in
SUB 312 at 11 a.m.
R. Schaeffer asked all members to introduce themselves and what college they represent.
R. Schaeffer announced that NUR 589 was being changed back to 6 credits from 3 credits, and NUR 571 was
being changed back to NUR 566, by the administration. This was to satisfy requirements for the remaining
students in the program, since the program is now in moratorium and will be ending.
MINUTES
It was moved by J. Walker, seconded by K. Kresge, to approve the minutes from April 28, 2011. MOTION
PASSED.
OLD BUSINESS
There was no Old Business.
NEW BUSINESS
Election of Officers
It was moved by E. Long, and seconded by D. Lynch to nominate K. Shively for the office of Vice-Chairperson.
It was moved by K. Kresge, and seconded by E. Long, to close nominations. MOTION PASSED. The Secretary
cast the ballot for K. Shively as Vice-Chairperson.
It was moved by E. Long, and seconded by D. Lynch to nominate S. Czerny for the office of Secretary.
It was moved by D. Lynch and seconded by J. Walker, to close nominations. MOTION PASSED. S. Czerny
was elected to serve as Secretary.

Addition of new policy for General Education.
R. Schaeffer announced this proposal was not open for amendment. C. Wells requested the word
“Policy” be replaced with “Guidelines,” as this is not a policy, but guidelines for the
implementation of the new General Education model. Further accommodations may be needed
for students as the old General Education model is phased out.
