Students logging at least 45 hours of service during the semester are eligible
to receive 2 letters of recommendation from Missouri Campus Compact.
Rose Hill House Senior Living Center
Sept 23, Tuesday, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Rose Hill House (close to campus)
Students help older adults in the community with small jobs like window
washing and minor repairs.
Cancer Awareness Day
Oct 1, Wednesday, 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, Student Center Quad
Students, staff & faculty experience prevention education on 9 different types
of cancers, including breast, testicular, lung & skin cancers.
Free lunch after attending a designated number of educational stations
The Missouri Baptist Mammography Unit will be on campus.
Pre-registration is required. For appointment call 314-996-5170.
Hands On Kirkwood
Oct 4, Saturday, 8:30 am, meet at Kirkwood Baptist Church (close to campus)
An opportunity for students & faculty to participate in our Community Day
of Service in partnership with “Hands On Kirkwood”
Recycling on Meramec Campus that day!

County Park Cleanup & Trail Building
Nov 8, Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, Rock Hollow Trails
A fun morning for students and faculty to do a green thing by removing
invasive honeysuckle or building new trails at a St. Louis County Park
Gloves, tools and a light lunch are provided.

Sorting at Circle
November , Circle of Concern Food Pantry (close to campus)
Volunteers must be able to lift 30+ pounds as they help load and sort food items
November 17, 18, 20, 21 from 9 am to noon and noon to 3 pm
November 19 from 9 am to noon and noon to 3 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm
7th Annual Spring Break Service Trip – We’re going to Memphis this year!
Mar 8– 13, Sun to Fri (6 days) Registration begins December 1, 2014
This is one of our most popular activities. Join us for our 7th year making

EMPTY BOWLS LUNCHEON
Nov 5, Wednesday, 12:00–1:30 pm, Student Center 200-201
Over lunch, learn about Operation Food Search, the Brown Bag Café and hunger issues
in our area. Choose an “empty bowl” made by Meramec Ceramic’s students.
Donation is $13.00; proceeds go to Operation Food Search.
Donation jars on the tables benefit the Brown Bag Café
