Do NOT DELAY on applying for additional funding – loans can take two weeks to show or more! As of May 10, 2015 you must have a verified FSA ID (Username & Password) instead of a PIN to log in to www.studentloans.gov where you can create both. If you had a FAFSA pin #, have that handy when applying for the new FSA ID. 1. Entrance Counseling and MPN’s are completed at www.studentloans.gov 2. Additional Funding still needed? Parent Plus Loans can be applied for by the parent at www.studentloans.gov Alternative loans are student loans with a co-signer that can be reviewed and applied for at www.elmselect.com 3. If you apply for loans late or too close to the due date where they will not show (2 weeks needed), you may need to utilize the payment plan to meet the due date requirement to secure a schedule. Any overpayments would of course be refunded once the account was fully overpaid. 4. NEW INCOMING STUDENTS – A recent federal requirement was instituted that you cannot receive any federal aid (Stafford loans, Plus loans or Pell Grants) until AFTER you have supplied your FINAL HS transcript showing your date of graduation. If you have not done this, do so now with urgency. Mail HS transcripts to Admissions. TAP/529 – If you have a TAP/529 account (college savings plan), please print your invoice and submit like you normally do. Provide the Office of Student Accounts with proof of that request submission so that we can defer that portion of your account while that payment is processed as we do understand it can take a few weeks to be sent. Please scan and email this proof, or fax it to us at 610-683-4674. If there is a difference after this submission, please make that payment by the due date or the deferment will be removed. Payment Plan – Click here for more information or sign up here with Tuition Pay by Higher One – our plan administrator. The enrollment fee is only $35.00. Payments go to them not KU – sign up today! Spring plans are open NOW! Employer Reimbursement - Click here to view more about this opportunity to defer a portion of your bill if your employer will cover it. Complete the form, provide proof and make payment of $300 per class by the due date to hold your schedule. Military Benefits - If you are using any military education benefit you must complete a VA Student Enrollment Certification Form in the Registrar’s Office and submit appropriate support! You must provide proof of your benefit to the Office of Student Accounts every semester before the due date. We will add a courtesy credit for approved aid that comes to KU to help you see the true costs. Submit documents early to enjoy this benefit! Charges not covered are due by the due date. Please visit the page above for general information. Remember only KU paid benefits are considered - stipends, and other at home benefits are not considered as valid forms of payment. Access to Student Records – If you want a parent, or other party, to be able to discuss your balance or information with us, we cannot do so without your written permission. This consent to disclose your records, even a balance due, is required by law (FERPA). Click here to access the form. Submit the completed document to the Registrar’s Office. Allow 24-48 hours for processing. For immediate needs, you can submit this to the Office of Student Accounts, and we will forward for you after we offer assistance.
