CSU GO ALERT! Cleveland State University Parking & Transportation Services is introducing an Escalation Based System for citations starting July 1, 2013. This means that if you receive the same citation more than once per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), the fee will increase with each citation you receive. This new process is being implemented to reduce the number of patrons that park without valid credentials or occupy metered spaces for long periods after meters have expired. Second Offense +$10.00 Third Offense +$25.00 Fourth Offense +$50.00 Example: No valid hangtag Second offense: Third offense: Fourth offense: $35 + $10 = $45.00 $35 + $25 = $60.00 $35 + $50 = $85.00 In addition to the escalating fee system, the following citation base amounts will increase to the amount below starting July 1: Expired Meter: $35.00 No Valid Hangtag: $35.00 Lost/Stolen Hangtag in Use: $250.00 Altered/Reproduced Hangtag: $250.00 Tips for avoiding citations: • • • • • • • • • • Give yourself extra time at metered spaces to get back to your vehicle after your class, work or meeting. CSU meters are enforceable 24/7 and accept US quarters only. Park in designated prepaid lots and garages with a valid parking hangtag. Hangtags are non-transferrable and may not be shared. Make sure your hangtag is clearly visible to enforcement personnel. Ensure that you are parking in the correct lot/garage based on your hangtag type. If you forget your hangtag, stop by the Parking office for a temp one day hangtag. When using a scratch off, make sure to scratch the correct month and date you are parking. Do not alter or reproduce any CSU hangtag. Do not purchase a hangtag from someone else.
