Spring 2016 UST 473/573 COLUMBUS SEMINAR 2016 Priority Application Deadline: December 4th When: Columbus Field Experience: Sunday, March 13, 2016 through Thursday, March 17, 2016 Led by Dr. Vera Vogelsang-Coombs, Associate Professor, and The Honorable Patrick A. Sweeney, member of the Ohio General Assembly for more than 30 years, this seminar gives students direct experience with the institutions and leaders of Ohio’s state government. Students will meet senior officials drawn from all three branches of government, an independent agency, the media, and non-governmental organizations. Students will also meet legislative leaders and observe oral arguments at the Supreme Court. Agency visits and briefings by Cabinet officers are included in the Columbus field experience. Who: Juniors, Seniors, Honors, Cost: $350 payable with tuition. Students are also responsible 4 CSU sessions: January 22, 2016, 4-6 p.m. January 29, 2016, 4-6 p.m. March 4, 2016, 4-6 p.m. April 15, 2016, 4-6 p.m. Graduate, and Law students who are in good academic standing for their transportation to Columbus, parking, meals, and other incidental expenses.
