University of Northern Iowa Center for Academic Ethics Position Title: Graduate Assistant for the Center for Academic Ethics Reports to: Center Director Anita Gordon, at anita.gordon@uni.edu Terms of Employment: Spring semester: 10 hours per week, beginning January 11, 2016 and ending May 6, 2016. Does not include the week of Spring Break. Compensation: The salary for a half-time assistantship in AY 2015-2016 will be $ 2,460 per semester. Salary is prorated on a weekly basis for late start. Graduate Assistants may qualify for in-state tuition and fees. Graduate Assistants receive University holidays and do not work during Thanksgiving Break, Spring Break, or the interims between semesters. For more information on the Graduate Assistantship System and procedures: http://www.grad.uni.edu/assistantships/ Position Description: General Responsibilities Provide research, administrative, planning, and marketing support to the Center for Academic Ethics Specific Tasks Assist in the planning and marketing of CAE trainings and events (e.g., assist in designing sessions, developing handouts, creating and distributing flyers, posting announcements, etc.) Coordinate and provide support for various CAE committee meetings Help set up and provide support at conferences and workshops (e.g., reserve rooms, register attendees, order refreshments, distribute attendance certificates, etc.) Update and maintain the CAE website Develop and implement communications and activities to engage students in Center activities Create surveys using online survey software Assist with collection of information and data entry for research projects, as needed Coordinate and support seed grant and/or research award competitions Take, obtain, and/or and post appropriate photos Represent the Center at campus and other events Occasional photocopying, filing, and other clerical tasks Meet with supervisor weekly to discuss assigned tasks Qualifications: Must be a full-time, degree-seeking student in a UNI graduate program Must be enrolled in 9 graduate credits each semester of assistantship. Maintain a Plan GPA of at least 3.00. First semester graduate students must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00. Some experience with Excel and Word strongly preferred.
