The members of APC have the autonomy to select its own faculty chair. 4) Progress Report to Implementing Credit by Examination Ming has scanned the side of the current Credit by Examination Form with instructions for Jane C. to create a new form. Jane mentioned that she and Kim Morrison will create a form using Acrobat based on the discussed revision from the Sept. 2 meeting. Jane C. reported that District Curriculum Council has not met since last APC meeting. She will bring up the issue of District policy on fees for credit by examination at the next meeting. Kathy Kelly will draft catalog language that will be in effect when the new process of credit by examination is in effect. 5) Reports by VPSS and/or VPAS of Requested Information were tabled due to their absence. 6) Shorter add period Tram had brought up the topic of shorter add period to encourage better student behavior and to avoid setting students up for failure for adding late. Currently, adds can be as late as three weeks into the semester. A preliminary discussion on the topic revealed that shortening it to two weeks once classes start aligns with the drop policy that an instructor may drop a student for two weeks absence. More research of other schools policy and discussion will continue. 7) Policies Related to Withdrawal was tabled. A copy of the handbook can be found online at www.cccco.edu/Portals/4/Legal/opinions/attachments/06-11.pdf 8) Chair’s Report: Ming reported that he has posted on APC website the issue for which he was approached about library computer usage. 9) Future Items: Presentation from Financial Aid Office.
