1. Introductions
2. Review of 2/9/16 minutes. Fred moved to approve, Trish seconded, committee
approved by consensus.
3. Update on Grant Development of Basic Skills State Initiatives RFP
a. Math moving forward on proposal and meeting with Yvonne
i. Focusing on professional development and cross discipline
collaboration
ii. Counseling requested they continue to stay connected to math
efforts to ensure linkage to help with enrollments and support
b. English and ESL have both decided not to put in a proposal
4. Reading and Social Annotation Presentation by Michael Thompson
a. Shared online platforms available
i. Uses Genius (genius.com) and Hypothes.is
ii. Shift from traditional textbooks due to cost and accessibility
1. Using free textbooks
2. Assuming access to internet via computer or at least
smartphones
iii. Ability to check completion and comprehension of reading done
by the students earlier as annotations and responses are
immediately available upon submission by student
