Texas Tech University seeks an Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology for an academic year tenure-track position starting in fall 2016. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have: an earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or a closely related field; an active research agenda in instructional technology, personalized learning, or teacher education; research experience in a K-12 classroom and a teacher preparation program in terms of technology integration and studentcentered learning; experience in designing curriculum for an instructional technology program; experience in designing teacher education curricula based on personalized learning; experience in developing and delivering face-to-face and online courses; experience in teaching technology integration course(s) in a teacher preparation program and/or graduate courses in the field of instructional design and technology; experience in developing a partnership with school districts for student-centered learning (e.g., personalized learning); experience in instructional design, development, and evaluation; record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: teach Instructional Technology courses in both face-to-face and online environments; coordinate a technology integration curriculum for the Department of Teacher Education; conduct research that meaningfully contributes to the improvement of practice and the field; supervise student research and practice in a manner that promotes their synthesis; advise graduate students and chair dissertation committees; contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary projects; and apply for and manage external funding to support research and the improvement of practice; contribute to the advancement of specialization and program goals through service; and provide service to the program, college, university, and the profession. The College of Education at Texas Tech University is comprised of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the Department of Teacher Education, and the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership. The College of Education houses 11 graduate programs that prepare both applied and basic researchers who possess the skills to work with diverse populations.
