Visitor Code of Conduct
To enter the UCT facility UCT will need to understand the following information which must be
provided one week prior to your visit:
1. Before the visit, obtain a list of All students and faculty names. (United States Trade
Control Screening)
2. Are any of the students foreign nationals studying in the United States, non-US
citizens?
 ENGR45 will need to complete form ENGR45_FieldTrip_03_Fa13_UCT_Citizenship.docx
3. All students and faculty must sign-in and display the Visitor tag when on UCT premises
4. All students and faculty must be escorted
Travel Arrangements
Students are responsible for making their OWN travel arrangements. At the conclusion of the
tour, any student is free to go his or her own way. Students do NOT need to return to campus.

ALL Students should bring with them a NOTEPAD and PENCIL/PEN with which to take
notes on the content of the visit. The student-notes should form the basis of the Field
Trip Report.
Field Trip Grading



5 points for attendance. Completion of the trip report will be considered evidence of
attendance
0-5 Points for sending to the Main Host a THANK YOU eMail within one week of the
tour
o Thank-you-note Grading based on including a THOUGHTFUL comment on the
tour and how much you learned.
 Examples of grading schema
 A “thanks for the Tour” eMail gets about 1-point
 A PARAGRAPH that lists specific activities, explanations, etc.,
demonstrations that were of interest to you gets 5-points
 Attach a copy of your eMail Thank-You as an APPENDIX to your trip
report
0-20 Points for completion and submission of a TRIP report

Clarence Granger
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Clarence Granger joined the company in 1996 as Executive Vice President of Operations and
was named CEO in 2002. He has a broad range of management experience with high
technology manufacturing companies.
Prior to UCT, Granger was vice president of media operations for Seagate Technology. Prior
to that, he was president and CEO of HMT Technology. Granger received his master's
degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University and holds a bachelor's degree
in industrial engineering from the University of California at Berkeley
