Understanding the interrelationship of attitude and behavior as it relates to sexual wellbeing and sexual integrity. May not receive credit if Health 8 or Sociology 8 has been completed. 3 hours. Expected Student Outcome: Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. describe society's stance on human sexuality from a historical perspective; 2. list the functions and dysfunctions of the human reproductive systems; 3. describe the normal development of intimacy and interpersonal relationships; 4. explain the development of sexual identity; 5. identify and evaluate the contraceptive methods; 6. describe the normal birthing process; 7. describe causes of diseases/disorders which affect the reproductive system; 8. identify normal and atypical sexual behaviors; 9. describe sexual development through the life cycle; 10. identify causes and prevention of sexual abuses; 11. explain the prevention of human immunodeficiency virus infection; 12. describe effective steps towards clarifying own sexual values.
