Self-paced, individualized instruction in academic English oral and written communication skills for students who speak English as a second language. Focus on writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills needed in college courses. 1.5-6 hours laboratory. [Typical contact hours: 26.25 - 105] Prerequisite Skills: None Expected Outcomes for Students: Upon completion of the course the student should be able to: 1. Communicate with a greater command and understanding of the English language, including: a. grammar points (level appropriate) b. Then, meet with a tutor or instructor to discuss your writing. b. Select a reading card and answer sheet from the Multicultural Reading Workshop box. Answer the prereading questions first. Then read the passage and answer the comprehension questions. Write all answers on the answer sheet. Check with the Answer Key, a tutor or an instructor. Write your score on the answer sheet.
