Meeting was called to order at 12:05 pm by Jennifer Lange
Draft Minutes of November meeting
Catherine did not have those available and announced that they will be presented at the February meeting.
March 3 Flex Day Planning
Jennifer shared the draft schedule for the Flex Day sessions for faculty. There will not be funds from the
president's office to supply breakfast, so we have asked Swinerton if they will help with that expense. If
they cannot, breakfast will be "on your own" as is the lunch.
Kathy Kelley asked if Flex Day time could be used to discuss the budget crisis and do some collegewide
planning in response to it. Jennifer indicated that the day was already set up with sessions and the guest
speaker. Discussion followed regarding the best way to address this need outside of the Staff
Development/Flex Day route.
Catherine is working with the Classified Senate to put together sessions for classified employees. The
Classified Senate indicated that they would like Dr. Zull to have an afternoon session based on how stress
affects memory and communication.
We have looked in to the possibility of having Dr. Zull's publisher have a table to sell books. We will
know more in the coming days.
We will need helpers to assist with the sign ins, posting the notices for the rooms being used for sessions,
and creating invitations to the district VIPs. We will finalize those assignments at the February Staff
Development meeting.
We will need to create the discussion prompts that will be used in the morning breakout session. Since
we didn't have enough time to accomplish this in this meeting, Jennifer will send out the information via
email and ask committee members to work on this before the February meeting.

April 1 Flex Day Planning
Jennifer shared that the April Flex Day will be structured around needed work in the area of Program
Review and possibly other areas related to Accreditation needs. The President will host the Employee
Anniversary lunch on this Flex Day.
