campus organization, teaching and assessment strategies, as well as provide personal

Description
In order to maintain the accreditation stsus of the college and lead the college forward
in it's goal to be student-centered, the LAC:
`coordinates all academic assessment activities for the college for the course, program,
and institutional levels, for quantitative and qualitative assessment
`recruits, mentors, and chairs the SLOAC committee so that assessment remains a
faculty-driven enterprise
`from the SLOAC committee, draft and vet all procedures and policies related to our
assessment
`integrate those policies in to existing structures of the college such as shared
governance, curriculum revision, program review, and the top-level committees that
exercise planning and resource allocation for the institution
`establish all procedures related to assessment, analysis, reporting, and all forms and
instructions pertaining to them
`routinely make reports to internal audiences for status and inspiration, and to external
audiences for accreditation preservation
`routinely self-educate, educate others, mentor, inspire, lead, answer questions, train,
support, and assess all faculty work related to student learning outcomes assessment

development opportunities that
• present faculty with current theories and best practices in higher education that
provide insights into the effectiveness of their teaching practices.
• allow faculty to utilize different approaches to developing and evaluating their current
teaching practices.
• encourage faculty to utilize a wider variety of pedagogical techniques when presenting
material in their courses.
• inspire a campus culture of inquiry and innovative teaching.
