• Assign, track, oversee, and coordinate the clinical experiences of the UNI Athletic
Training students.
• Oversee the student supervision and education provided by the 14 on-campus & 20 offcampus UNI Preceptors and including, but not limited to:
Ensure adequate Direct Supervision
Ensure Learning is taking place
Ensure that students are not being utilized as a Work Force
• Maintain the appropriate ratios for:
Supervision
Settings (Equipment intensive, in season, out of season, general medical, etc.)
Instructors (75% ACI vs 25% CI)
• Develop, implement, & analyze electronic student/supervisor clinical experience
quarterly evaluations
Preceptors’ evaluation of students
• Report scores and issues to Program Director

Reporting any violations or issues to Division Chair and Program Director
• Maintain all affiliation agreements for all sites hosting athletic training students
• Secure new Preceptors and sites to coincide with program growth (more students =

• Establish/maintain general medical experiences in compliance with CAATE standards
• Serve as Clinical Instructor Educator
• Communicate, update, educate Preceptors via, telephone, etc. regarding educational
changes and standards
• Host yearly summer Preceptor workshop to train all Preceptors to comply with
CAATE standards
• Make routine visits to each of the 14 off-campus and 12 on-campus sites where athletic
training students are completing clinical experiences.
