Once you reach the 600% Pell LEU, you are ineligible for any additional Pell Grant. Log onto www.nslds.ed.gov using your FAFSA PIN and view your LEU, found on the Financial Aid Review page. For more information: http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/PellLimit.jsp What this means for you: You must plan now for your future, especially if you plan to transfer to a four year college for a Bachelors degree. The six year limit is a LIFETIME limit, regardless of completion of your academic goals or Bachelors degree. This regulation is in effect even if you have had an appeal approved for failure to meet academic progress, it supersedes any prior offer of aid/award, and the Department of Education allows for no appeal or exception. You must view your Pell grant history at www.nslds.ed.gov. If your LEU is at or above 300%, but below 600%, understand that it limits your eligibility now and/or in the future. If your LEU is 600% or more, you are simply ineligible for any additional Pell Grant. The eligibility calculation includes all Pell grants you have received at any college or university in your lifetime. My LEU is _______%. (www.nslds.ed.gov) I understand that I am close to my Lifetime Pell Eligibility of 600%. I wish to receive my remaining Pell Grant at Chabot for the 2016-17 academic year, if academically and financially eligible. Please consider me for awarding and disbursement of the maximum amount of Pell grant that the FAO determines me to be eligible to receive during the 2016-2017 academic year. I understand the total amount may be less than 100% of the normal award. The Financial Aid Office determines my eligibility. I understand that I may have little or NO Pell Grant eligibility in the future, including when I transfer to a four year, tuition-charging college or university. I will be responsible for repayment of any Pell Grant received in excess of 600% during 2016-17 or thereafter. I understand that I am close to my Lifetime Pell Eligibility of 600%, and/or I do not want to receive my remaining Pell grant at Chabot for the 2016-2017 academic year. If this notification is received after a disbursement is made, I will repay the amount disbursed. If you do nothing, you will be considered for awarding and disbursement of maximum Pell Grant based on both financial and academic eligibility. ________________________________________________________ Student Signature Award Year 2013-2014 Fall Spring 2014-2015 2015-2016 ______________________ Date *EXAMPLE LIFETIME PELL ELIGIBILITY CALCULATION* Enrollment Semesters Used % Used Full time 1 50% Full time Lifetime Pell Used 50% 1 50% 100% Fall Full time 1 50% 150% Spring Half time .5 25% 175% Summer Half time .5 25% 200% Fall Full time 1 50% 250% Spring Full time 1 50% 300% Totals 6.0 300% Revised 02/16/16
