Rawls Study Abroad Scholarship
The Mickey and Barbara McKenzie Scholarship Endowment for Student Enhancement in the Rawls College of
Business was established by the McKenzie family in 2014. This scholarship will be used to encourage global
learning through study abroad programs for graduate and undergraduate students. The intent is to enhance
the overall experience and education for students in the Rawls College of Business.
Scholarship Amounts Awarded
•$2,500 for Fall/Spring Programs• $1,500 for Intersession/Maymester/Summer Programs

Video Essay
Applicant must answer the following five (5) questions:
• What is your financial plan to fund your study abroad program?
• How do you think studying abroad will impact your career goals?
• If you are selected to receive this scholarship, how do you plan on giving back upon return?
• How are you going to make the most of your study abroad experience?
• Why do you believe you should receive this scholarship over other applicants?

Application Instructions
Video essay must be between three (3) and eight (8) minutes long. In order to be considered, all essay
questions must be answered. Creative video submissions are encouraged. Applications will be judged based
on the following criteria: originality, authenticity of essay, and overall quality of answers given. Only one
scholarship application may be submitted per studying abroad term. Please return completed application and
materials to:

Application Deadlines
Applications must be received by the following dates:
•Fall: May 1st•Spring/Intersession: November 1st•Summer/Maymester: March 1st
Selection Procedure
Candidates who meet the scholarship criteria and program requirements will have their scholarship
application, video essay and resume evaluated by an independent selection committee. Only one scholarship
per selected student will be awarded per term. Winners will be notifed by email approximately 4-6 weeks after
the submission deadline.
