UPDATE 5/1/15
Full-time and part-time art instructors met and discussed what course
level and programmatic strengths were revealed by the assessment
totals. The success rate percentages were well above campus averages —
often 100%. Everyone agreed that this is more due to the nature of the
discipline than the individual courses. When asked what actions the art
discipline might take, it was decided that the target percentage 75%
might be raised to 100%.

Program: Art – Emphasis in Sculpture

PLO #1: Demonstrate visual literacy and explain it in terms of the elements and
principles of design.


PLO #2: Demonstrate an ability to work with the media (drawing, painting, clay, etc.)
of the discipline.

PLO #3:

PLO #4:
What questions or investigations arose as a result of these reflections or discussions?
What measures can be taken to improve student access to our program?
What program-level strengths have the assessment reflections revealed?
Both PLO’s are integrated in all of the Art classes offered. Students are very
successful when they have the access to the offered classes.
What actions has your discipline determined might be taken to enhance the learning of
students completing your program?
We are asking for additional full time faculty and more classes so students have access to
courses to complete their programs.
