Job Description- Peer Tutor and Peer Tutor/Office Assistant Peer tutors and peer tutor/office assistants for UTS will maintain a 3.0 GPA and a grade of ‘B’ or higher in the course(s) he/she wishes to tutor, plus complete all REQUIRED tutor training, including ongoing inservice professional development requirements. Also, please remember that ALL tutoring sessions are CONFIDENTIAL! In addition, peer tutors will: Faithfully maintain their tutoring schedules. Come prepared for all tutoring sessions. Be on time for all tutoring sessions Call tutees when canceling a session – PLEASE keep a record of your tutee’s phone numbers! Complete a red “NO CALL NO SHOW” form each time a tutee neglects to attend a session Consult with the Director and Graduate Assistant whenever appropriate for advice. Record and submit all required financial aid/payroll data as required, including keeping accurate time sheets each week – DUE THURSDAYS AT NOON! Conduct each tutoring session in a conscientious, professional manner. Notify tutees of any changes to your weekly schedule – if changes to weekly schedule are permanent, PLEASE notify the office as well If serving as a peer tutor/office assistant, the student will: Fulfill all requirements for and perform all duties of a peer tutor as outlined above. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and office conventions for telephone use, responding in a timely manner to phone calls, emails, and cancellations, overseeing the application process, computer use, making suitable tutor/tutee matches, punctuality requirements, absentee procedures, and appropriate office behaviors.
