Position Overview:
Shopko’s Store Management Trainee program is designed for motivated individuals looking
to enter a career in store leadership. Our accelerated program will pair you with a mentor
and allow you to learn retail management responsibilities for Team Leadership, Customer
Service, Salesfloor, and Logistics. During the program you will lead teams and develop
plans to achieve both short and long term goals. You will also have interaction with senior
leaders; where you can learn first-hand the goals and direction of our company!
Program Overview:
Shopko’s Store Management Trainee program consists of 12 weeks of on-the-job training at
Shopko and Shopko Hometown store locations throughout the country.
You can learn retail anywhere. At Shopko, experience the following





Kick off the training at Shopko’s Store Support Center in Green Bay Wisconsin
Tour our various Store Formats, Distribution Center and Optical Lab
Participate in weekly calls with Sr. Leaders
Spend one on one time with your District Manager
Lead teams in each of the Store’s work centers
Upon successful completion of this program you will be placed in your first role - an
Assistant Manager in a Shopko or Shopko Hometown store. Here you will lead a team of up
to 40 teammates. From there the sky is the limit. We’re continuing to open new locations,
so your first position could be anywhere. Relocatability is a must.
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
 College graduate with a minimum of a 2 year degree (preferably in Retail or
Business) or equivalent of 2 years of supervisor key carrier experience required
 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to work cross-functionally between multiple departments
 Exceptional organizational, planning and analytical skills
 Demonstrated leadership abilities
 Drive, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly
 Ability to relocate
