"I've not seen a better strategist in terms of overseeing national litigation." - Client Testimonial, Chambers
Global
Glenn Zakaib is a partner in the Advocacy Department and the Product Liability and Class Action Specialty
Practice Groups at Cassels Brock. The main focus of his practice is on product liability (e.g., drug and medical

proceedings (e.g., product liability, life insurance and misrepresentation claims and Competition Act claims).
He has been involved in numerous precedent-setting cases.
Glenn is recognized as a leading lawyer by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, the Lexpert/American
Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Chambers Global, Chambers Canada, Who's Who

judgement to the table. He is a thoughtful lawyer who will provide practical advice and take reasonable
positions that will be a success in the long run." The publication also quotes a source as saying: "I've not seen
a better strategist in terms of overseeing national litigation...he really gets the big picture issues and he's at the
top of my list for handling nationwide matters."
Glenn speaks regularly to professional and industry groups about legal issues that pertain to product litigation
and class proceedings. He has delivered speeches to MEDEC and Osgoode Hall Professional Development
Program, Quebec Bar Association, as well as the Canadian Institute, the Insurance Institute of Ontario and the
Practicing Law Institute. Glenn is a member of the Defence Research Institute (DRI) Product Liability
Committee, Drug and Medical Device Committee, Commercial Litigation Committee and International
Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only honorary trial lawyer
society.
Glenn is past Chair of the DRI International Committee. Appointment to the prestigious position of Chair of this
association of civil defence lawyers recognized Glenn Zakaib's ability and accomplishment in the area of
International Law. DRI’s International Law Committee’s mission is to develop a global network of lawyers
focused on the international and multi-national aspects of the practice of civil defence litigation. The
International Law Committee brings together international clients and in-house and outside counsel who
represent them, as well as US multi-national companies and their inside and outside counsel. Glenn is also the
Vice-Chair of Regional Programming for the Law Institute, immediate past Canadian Regional Director with
DRI, Vice-Chair of the Automotive SLG, and immediate past Chair of the International SLG with the Product
Liability Committee for the DRI.
Glenn joined Cassels Brock in 1987, and in 1993 he served as the firm's Managing Partner. Glenn describes
