Position Announcement AA #: 07-5-356 Temporary, Full-time Psychological Counselor, Fall Semester 2016/Spring Semester 2017 Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania The Temporary, Full-time Psychological Counselor is a member of the faculty in the Department of Counseling and Human Development which is part of the Health and Wellness area within Student Affairs. The individual is responsible for providing individual and group counseling, testing, outreach and crisis intervention services to Bloomsburg University college students. Other responsibilities include consultation, case conferences; department meeting attendance; and related duties within the Department of Counseling and Human Development. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in psychology, counseling, or clinical social work; PA license or proof of immediate eligibility to sit for a PA license as a Psychologist, Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker at the time of hire; minimum of one year experience providing psychological counseling to traditional college-age students; a strong understanding of college student development; demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution; three years of successful experience providing psychological counseling; experience providing brief therapy to college students; some experience with substance abuse counseling, experience providing preventative psychoeducational and wellness programs. Finalists for this position must communicate well, and successfully complete an interview process as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department conducting the search.
