On March 17, 2016, the winners of Managing IP's North America Awards 2016 were honoured at a gala event
at the Four Seasons in Washington, DC.
Canadian Broadcasting Corp v. Sodrac 2003 Inc. was honoured as a milestone case at the awards ceremony.

Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency, the Canadian Music Publishers Association and the
International Confederation of Music Publishers in this matter, persuading the Supreme Court of Canada that
television broadcasters must pay royalties when they reproduce music to facilitate their broadcasting activities.
