Education: Dean Scott Ridley Please describe your department / program and its mission. The Counselor Education program offers a Master's Degree in counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education. The Master's Degree program prepares professional counselors for either School Counseling (48 hour program) or Clinical Mental Health Counseling (60 hours). Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepares students to sit for the LPC license. There are six full-time faculty members in Counselor Education. Mission What is your current review time-line? The CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) Self Study will be submitted to the CACREP office. Following the submission, the CACREP Board reviews the Self Study during the review time. If additional information is needed, the CACREP office notifies Dr. Bradley who will send the additional information. The CACREP Board reviews the Self Study and will inform the college when the Self Study is complete and ready for a Site Visit Additional notes regarding current standing: The Counselor Education Program at Texas Tech is the only CACREP Accredited program between Dallas/Fort Worth and Albuquerque.
