Optimum Transfer Guide: Multidisciplinary Studies Middle Math/Science
A Wealth of Opportunities Await ...
 Undergraduate Research
Texas Tech is an emerging research
university dedicated to developing new
technologies for a better world. We are a
public university with a mandate to
advance knowledge, promote economic
development, and enhance cultural
development.
 Study Abroad
Are you interested in teaching a foreign
language then check out our study abroad
program. Study German at the TTU campus in Quedlinburg, Germany or Spanish
in Seville, Spain. From here, it is possible.
 Graduate Education
Why Study Education?
The College of Education is devoted to
promoting excellence and equity through
scholarship, research, and reflective practice
in education. The college provides degree
and certification programs for both undergraduate and graduate students who plan careers in education. For many individuals this
means a future in teaching. College faculty
work close with public school personnel and
practitioners in the field to design programs
that will
prepare leading educators for the 21st
Century.
Are you interested in working with autistic children or maybe you want to become a school counselor. Check out the
graduate programs available in the college of
education.
 Professional Career
From here you can be a professional
educator. You can become a teacher and
teach all-levels of Art, Health, Music,
Physical education, Special education, or
Technology applications. You can prepare to be an Elementary, Middle Level
or Secondary teacher, but you can also
choose to be a counselor, principal, superintendent, reading specialist, a master
reading teacher, etc. In addition to these
certifications, you can get additional certificates in Bilingual education, English
as a Second language, Special education
or Visual Impairment, all being high
need teaching areas.
The preparation of teachers and the provision
of knowledge and skills for educators seeking
advanced certificates are important functions
of Texas Tech. If you can see yourself
teaching young students then Texas Tech is
the place to be.
Texas Common Course Number
System (TCCNS)
The Texas Common Course Numbering
System (TCCNS) aids students in the
transfer of general academic courses
between Texas public colleges and
universities throughout the state.
Course recommendations in this
transfer guide are expressed in
TCCNS
designations.
Applying Transfer Hours to a
Four-year Degree
▪ The Transfer Evaluation Office in
the Office of the Registrar at Texas
Tech determines which courses taken
at another institution may be accepted for credit.
▪ The academic associate dean of the
Texas Tech college in which a
student enrolls has authority for
determining which courses will be
applied toward the specific degree
program chosen.
▪ Students must earn a grade of C or
better for all courses fulfilling
requirements in majors, minors, or
specialization's.
▪ A maximum of 66 semester credit
hours from two-year institutions
may be applied toward the
baccalaureate degree at four-year
institutions. Although, all credit
hours presented on the sending
institution's transcripts will be evaluated and equivalent college level
courses posted to the student's academic record.
