Most repsondents (64%) will have a car on campus this fall, including 61% of freshman and on-campus students. Forty-four percent of respondents’ students will be driving themselves home for Thanksgiving, followed by 15%
who are unsure about Thanksgiving transportation plans, 14.5% who are taking advantage of the Parent & Family Relations bus trips (more information HERE), and taking airlines.
For travel safety information to share with your student, please visit the Texas Tech Police Department’s driving tips page. Talk with your student about avoiding Drowsy Driving.
If your student does not have a car on campus and needs to get to the airport or other places in town, Lubbock has Uber and taxi services. Many students get rides from friends.
