The Trust for Public Land’s Ohio office is seeking a passionate and qualified part-time philanthropy and marketing intern. The intern will primarily support the philanthropy program in raising funds for The Trust for Public Land’s mission – conserving land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and natural lands, ensuring livable communities for generations to come. The intern’s specific roles and responsibilities will be developed based on the intern’s interests, strengths, and organizational needs. Examples of tasks/projects an intern may work on include but are not limited to:
Development and distribution of marketing materials
Prospect research for potential donors
Event planning and execution
Creating a social media strategy
General office work (filing, mailings, etc.)
Community outreach activities
Monitoring and evaluation of current marketing/philanthropy efforts
This is an unpaid internship. Interns are encouraged you to use this internship to gain course credit and to seek out "work-study" grants with your university, if available.
Hours are flexible and to be determined by the intern and supervisor(s). Ideally 5-15 hours/week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional weekend/evening hours may arise. Some duties can be performed remotely, if desired.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Non-profit Management, Business, or other relevant area of study; recent graduates will also be considered
Advanced proficiency in MS Office
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Skills in graphic design and/or photography
Experience or interest in event management
Strong attention to detail and deadlines
Ability to come to our office in Playhouse Square
Interest in and commitment to The Trust for Public Land’s mission
