GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Internship provides a current MBA student the opportunity to get hands-on exposure to areas of
HR through supporting specific HR program(s) and working with various HR tools and systems. The Human Resources
Internship Program is designed for students who have completed their first year of an MBA program and aspire to work on
highly visible and relevant projects within one of more of the critical functional areas of human resources:

This internship is for Summer 2016.
Additionally, this internship provides the opportunity to build relationships and develop individual business acumen
through networking with other PolyOne interns across the organization and interaction with various PolyOne leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under direct supervision, assists with providing advice to management on specific HR and business processes or
programs based on business case and analysis.
• Assists in performing best practice research of new or modified programs and systems. Develop and implement
business plans /strategy in key programs.
• Become familiar with the recruiting process and assist generalist in interviewing candidates.
• Audit Human Resources related files. Update and maintain employee personnel files.
• Analyze policies and procedures implemented for improving employee’s effectiveness in the organization, as well as
for increasing satisfaction levels achieved from these roles.
• Interact with Senior Management, have exposure to the Company's most critical initiatives, build relationships with
other high potential employees across the globe, and make a difference in the PolyOne's future success.
• Gain an understanding of the various PolyOne businesses from a financial, operational, and strategic standpoint. This
position is intended to be a stepping stone for a future key leadership role with the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams across businesses.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION
• Currently pursuing an MBA with a focus on Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Labor Relations,
Organizational Psychology, or related field.
• BA/BS degree with emphasis in Human Resources. Experience and/or knowledge or coursework in the Human
Resources field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data
sources using a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools.
• Results driven, able to lead and influence across all levels of a matrix organization, be flexible and possess excellent
verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be reliable, organized, self-motivated, and possess a high degree of integrity.
• Excellent research and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Past work experience with maintaining confidential data is strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP knowledge a plus.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast moving, dynamic, team environment.

and other management executives to gain administrative knowledge and understand the complexities of the different
aspects of organizations. Interns frequently perform clerical duties, like photocopying forms and documents, as well as
create and manage financial statements, analyze data, develop social media and communications strategies, and assist
with employee recruitment, benefits, payment, and retention responsibilities.
