Students in the Economics Scholars Program must complete the core requirements, statistics requirement,
MTH 181 and MTH 182, and the computer literacy requirement ( for economics majors; however, the elective
requirement is fulfilled by completing ECN 322, ECN 355, ECN 497 (Honors Essay),and three additional economics electives which have as a prerequisite at least one course in principles of economics. For students planning to pursue graduate studies in economics, additional courses in mathematics are recommended.
Capstone Requirement. Student must satisfy the capstone requirement by taking one of the following elective
courses: ECN 485, ECN 482, ECN 441 or ECN 450. This capstone course will count toward meeting the 23
credit hours of economics electives requirement.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HONORS B.A. IN ECONOMICS
Students who wish to earn an honors baccalaureate in economics must take hours 32 of coursework in economics, a minimum of 3 hou
statistics, 8 hours of mathematics and 3 hours of computer software applications.

HONORS PROGRAM: An Honors candidate must have and maintain a 3.25 overall grade-point average
(GPA) and a 3.25 GPA in major field requirements. Students in the Economics Honors Program must complete the core requ
ments, statistics requirement, and the computer literacy requirement for economics majors. In addition, MTH 181 and MTH
must be completed. (For students planning to pursue graduate studies in economics, more than this minimum is recommende

Plus 12 additional credits are earned by selecting courses from the following list of electives.
