The college offers outstanding educational programs and academic services to students, faculty, business, and other stakeholders. The college endorses a balance between teaching and research while engaging in partnerships with the business community. The college focuses its efforts to continually improve the quality of instruction and scholarship to advance its disciplines and the success of all learners. The College of Business is committed to preparing learners to succeed in the global business environment by delivering a dynamic and innovative curriculum that is technologically at the forefront; preparing a foundation for learners to engage in lifelong learning and achievement in a rapidly changing, increasingly diverse society; building partnerships both internal and external to the university to create mutual value; recruiting high quality undergraduate and graduate students and supporting their development towards achieving excellence in their careers; recruiting, supporting, and maintaining high quality faculty and staff in support of excellence in teaching, research, and operations. Rationale: The College decided to remove the objectives listed under the mission statement as they represent operational imperatives on how to implement the mission. Department of Management Other catalog change: Page 58 , 2007-2008 Graduate Catalog Certificate of Graduate Study in Leadership (12) This certificate will provide graduate students with a set of courses focused on leadership. This certificate is designed to help students develop the ability to lead and change themselves, others, and organizations to enhance their leadership abilities in business organizations. Students must achieve a B or better in each of the courses applied toward the certificate and complete all certificate course work within six years immediately preceding awarding of the certificate. Some courses may have prerequisites that are not part of the certificate curriculum. Applications are available in the College of Business Office of MBA Programs. Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible. The certificate provides College of Business students with transcript notation of focused work on developing their leadership abilities.
