Prerequisite: Senior standing in biology, microbiology or cell molecular biology or zoology. Critical reviews of classical and recent literature and reports of original investigations. (Writing Intensive) This class has an invited seminar speaker to present every Wednesday of Fall and Spring. This seminar is not only for the undergraduate student of BIOL 4101, but all DBS graduate students and DBS faculty are encouraged and invited to attend to share in this special guest lecture. Our invitation to other TTU guests include TTUHSC Cell Biology & Biochemistry, Entomology, Microbiology & Immunology, TTU Plant and Soil Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Chemistry. Collaborative non-Tech employees invited are from Texas A&M Experimental Science Station, and the USDA. This speaker traditionally arrives on Tuesday and leaves on Thursday. This stay would include a social to meet with the speaker prior to the lecture. Also, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and some evening socials are experienced during this stay. These activities promote the communication and promotion of intellectual ideas, plus the exchange of ideas on university and community relations among TTU & HSC faculty, DBS graduate and undergraduate students, and outside entities.
