ePM Reminder
The 2016 Staff Performance Evaluation process is underway. The evaluated period is inclusive of
the time from March 1, 2015 through February 29, 2016. Supervisors are allowed through April
15 to complete the performance evaluations and meet with their employees to go over the
report. Evaluations will be due to Human Resources no later than April 15, 2016.
Use of the electronic Performance Management (ePM) system is now required for all staff
performance evaluations. Exceptions are made only where the supervisor is not a TTU
employee.
If you or your staff need instruction on using the ePM system, please contact Human Resources
Talent Management at 742-3650. My staff is able to assist with this process through
individualized or group training sessions.
Lengths of Service Awards
April 14th from 3:00 pm- 5:00pm in the Red Raider Ballroom. If your department has not
received the LOS roster for service years verifications please email Candice Rice at
hrs.systems@ttu.edu.

March of Dimes is celebrating its 78th anniversary this year and Texas Tech University is proud
to be joining the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center as a sponsor! Please join Texas
Tech in supporting the 2016 March of Dimes' March for Babies Walk.
The 2016 Chair for March for Babies is Jeff Horn, CEO of Benchmark Business
Solutions.
Past-chair, Dr. Juan S. Muñoz, Senior Vice President for Institutional Diversity, Equity &
Community Engagement and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education & Student Affairs, is
excited to help Jeff and we hope to help make this event as successful as possible.
We encourage each of you to take part in this year's event and there are several incentives for
those that choose to participate.
2016 March for Babies Ambassador Family – The Whisenant’s
Ashley Whisenant, Project Supervisor, Accounting Services, Texas Tech University
"Our son, Ryder Lane Whisenant, was born 8 weeks early. He weighed 3 lbs 7 oz at birth,
the 10% for his gestation. We brought him home after 24 days in the NICU. He is now 2
years old and weighs 24 lbs! We are very blessed to be able to share our story as the
Ambassador Family for Lubbock's walk this year. We have seen the NICU save lives. Please
help us support these babies!"

Holiday Schedule FY 2017
The Holiday Schedule will be presented to the Board of Directors in the May meeting and will be
posted to the Human Resources website in June.
Great Colleges to Work For
Texas tech will be participating in the Great Colleges to Work For survey again this year. 600 FullTime Faculty and Staff will be randomly chose to participate in the survey. If you are chosen you
will receive an email from Modern Think on March 21st.
SumTotal Upgrade
SumTotal is moving to a new user interface that should go live on March 21st. Announcements
will be sent out on a final date of implementation.

Fringes Projection

The Fringes Projection application can be used to estimate department fringes for annual salary
and one time payments. This application reflects salary and estimated fringes that will post to a
labor FOP. It does not represent an individual’s net check amount. Federal Income Tax
withholding calculations and optional insurance deductions are not included in the application.
Select whether projecting for current employee or new hire. Indicate annual salary or one-time
payment.
Complete requested fields. The example below is for a new hire.

The amount reflects the estimated monthly charges to the labor FOP.
The example below will estimate fringes on a one-time payment. Two options are available for
one-time payments. The first option will calculate on the gross amount paid to the employee.

The second option will include the department fringe charges in the gross amount and provide
an amount to submit on the EOPS.
