All of the following are required
NS core courses = 14 (Face to Face)
NS 5342 Biostatistics in Nutrition
NS 5118 Seminar or NS 6118 Seminar;Offered every
semester. Take 2 times.
NS 5330: Intro to Nutrition Research; Online section is
reserved for dietetic interns.
NS 5365: Vitamins and Minerals;Offered every
semester; face-to-face and online
NS 5370: Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Lipids; Offered
every semester; face-to-face and online
NS Electives (face to face)
TOTAL HOURS REQUIRED
Thesis = 30 (includes 6 hours of NS 6000);
Non-thesis = 36
Substitutions to the required core courses must be
discussed with Dr. Reed, Graduate Advisor, and your
Thesis Research Advisor, if applicable.
Notes
NS 5601, NS 5334, and NS 5311 Prob in Nutr: Prof Pract in
Nutr Careers are available only to dietetic interns and are not
included in this Plan.
US Food Service Seminar held in May can count as 1 NS 5118.
For NS 5000 and NS 7000, faculty permission is
required; can sign up for variable number of hours,
1 -6.
If interested in getting a specialization in sports
nutrition for MS degree, take NS 6325, NS 6330, and NS
5335.
