I. The Graduate Council minutes are available in the Graduate School office and on the Graduate
School website at www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool.
II. A motion was made by Gary Elbow and seconded by Hansel Burley to approve the minutes from
the 3rd meeting of the Graduate Council held on Thursday, November 3, 2011. The Graduate
Council approved these minutes.
III. Students admitted to Doctoral Candidacy.
The following students were admitted to candidacy for the doctorate on the recommendation of
their departments. A motion was made by Eileen Johnson and seconded by Betty Stout. The
Graduate Council approved these candidates.

The following course deletion came with a motion of approval from the Academic Program
Committee and seconded by Michael Stoune. The Graduate Council approved.
COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
MUAP 6000: Master’s Thesis (V1-6) (Deletion)
VI. Other Business
Dr. Miller announced that the ELS Educational Services is done and approved. The first class
should be offered on June 25, 2012.
Dr. Michael Stoune announced that Dr. Duane Crawford (Associate Dean of the Graduate School)
will be leaving to take on a new role at Kansas State University. Dr. Stoune motioned that the
Graduate Council draft up a Resolution for Dr. Crawford. Eileen Johnson seconded the motion.
The Graduate Council all approved.
The Graduate School is currently in the process of hiring a director for the Graduate Student Life
position.
VII. Announcements
Dr. Miller announced that the new Graduate School website will be up before the Holidays.
Dr. Miller announced that at the Fall 2012 semester, Doctoral students on assistantships will no
longer pay fees and will only pay about $600 per semester for tuition.
The next Graduate Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2011.
A motion was made by Eileen Johnson and seconded by Betty Stout to adjourn the Graduate
Council meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 4:04 p.m.
