VI. Other Business
The Council discussed and indicated support for a resolution regarding Graduate Faculty status. At
Dean Miller’s suggestion, the Council agreed to wait for a resolution of the matter until the first Fall
meeting of the Council when the new members would be present. Dr. Gary Elbow will prepare a
resolution for consideration.
Dr. Miller announced that ETS (Education Testing Service) will be coming to the Graduate School
to analyze how scholarships are reviewed and awarded on our campus. They will also pilot a new
instrument to predict success in Graduate Education. This service will be of no charge to our
University.
Dr. Miller and Valerie Paton have made a suggestion to the Coordinating Board to allow our
existing 6 year reviews be their 6 year reviews as well. This would keep us from having to
duplicate what we already have under way.
VII. Announcements
The next Graduate Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 1, 2011.
The Graduate Council meeting was adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
