I. The Graduate Council minutes are available in the Graduate School office and on the Graduate
School website at www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool.
II. A motion was made by Eileen Johnson and seconded by Ann Hawkins to approve the minutes
from the 4th meeting of the Graduate Council held on Thursday, November 29, 2012. The Graduate
Council approved these minutes.
III. Students admitted to Doctoral Candidacy.
The following students were admitted to candidacy for the doctorate on the recommendation of
their departments. A motion was made by Stephen Cook and seconded by Eileen Johnson. The
Graduate Council approved these candidates.

VI. Announcements
Dom announced that he is suggesting the new fees will be as followed: $65.00 for Domestic
application fee, $75.00 for International application fee, and $50.00 for any change fee.
Ralph announced the estimated graduation numbers for the May 2013 graduation are 150 Ph.D.’s,
480 Master’s.
VII. Old Business
Ram Iyer asked about applications numbers dropping in the Math department and if this is across
campus. Stephen Cook said same thing in their department and both asked if it is due to the higher
application fees set forth.
VIII. New Business
The admission share point process with be going live next week
Florencio Aranda and Terrance Rodrigues announced the events that will be taking place during the
Graduate Student Appreciation week.
Alice Young came out to the Graduate Council and gave a report on “Research Integrity and
Research Compliance at TTU” in January of 2011. Alice has asked that the Graduate Council open
this up for discussion again.
Eileen Johnson motioned to adjourn the Graduate Council meeting and Ann Hawkins seconded the
motion. The meeting was adjourned at 3:26 p.m.
