Resolution of Appreciation for Provost
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR DR. WILLIAM MARCY
WHEREAS, Dr.Wiliam M. Marcy has stepped down as Provost after serving in that position
since 2002; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Marcy has served Texas Tech University for 34 years as Professor, Dean,
Associate Dean, Department Chair, and as Provost; and
WHEREAS, he has worked diligently to successfully perform the duties required of each
responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Marcy has performed such duties with fairness, honesty, and integrity;
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Faculty Senate, meeting on this 10th day of September 2008,
expresses its appreciation for the service of Dr. Marcy as Provost and wishes him well in his
continued service to the university.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this resolution be distributed to Dr. William
Marcy, President Guy Bailey, Chancellor Kent Hance, and members of the Texas Tech
University System Board of Regents.
